Clump Stars in the Solar Neighbourhood
Hipparcos data has allowed the identification of a large number of clump stars in the Solar Neighbourhood. We discuss our present knowledge about their distributions of masses, ages, colours, magnitudes, and metallicities. We point out that the age distribution of clump stars is “biased” towards intermediate-ages. Therefore, the metallicity information they contain is different from that provid...
متن کاملNucleosynthesis and Clump Formation in a Core-Collapse Supernova.
High-resolution two-dimensional simulations were performed for the first 5 minutes of the evolution of a core-collapse supernova explosion in a 15 M middle dot in circle blue supergiant progenitor. The computations start shortly after bounce and include neutrino-matter interactions by using a lightbulb approximation for the neutrinos and a treatment of the nucleosynthesis due to explosive silic...
متن کاملCHROMOSOME COUNTS IN SOME MOSSES OF IRAN
Cytological information is absolutely lacking for the Iranian moss flora (Bryophytes). The present research, dealing with cytological studies on the following five species (including two expressions and one variety) of Iranian mosses, namely, Amblystegium riparium (Hedw.) B.S.G. “brevipes” expression(n=20), A. riparium (Hedw.) B.S.G. “pennellii” expression (n=9, 9+m, 9+2m), A. serpens (Hedw.) B...

Clump splitting through concavity analysis
We present a novel method of decomposing digital binary clumps into constituent convex parts. The algorithm is based on the analysis of concavities to determine where splitting should occur. Two relative concavity measures, concavity degree and concavity weight, are also defined.
